Tense is a term used to distinguish different categories of verbs. Present, past, and future are tenses. Among other things, tense tells you when the action represented by the verb took place; e.g. past, present, future. We also use the progressive tense and/or perfect tense.



In Greek, tense tells you both time and aspect. The major tenses in Greek are:

  4. aorist
  5. perfect
