full vowel

This is a distinction used in Hebrew grammar to distinguish vowels. Full vowels do not have a sheva in them. A vowel with a sheva in it is known as a “half vowel” or a “reduced vowel” (as in this chart) or “composite sheva” (KHW) or “very short vowel” (Dr. Michael Barrett).   This chart has all the vowels classified by their type.
