emphatic tense

The emphatic tense is a tense used to emphasize something or assert it more strongly than the simple tenses. It is built using the helping verb “do”, “does”, or “did”.

He did run the race.
I do love you.
She does take good care of her children.

“do” and “does” are used for present and future tense; “did” is used for the past.
